Jomar Pandan is a writer, researcher, jeweler and entrepreneur based in the Philippines. He writes about gemstones, history and culture, drawing inspiration from the many stories that surround precious stones and the people who value them.

From a young age, Jomar developed a love for photography, fashion and creative pursuits. These interests eventually led him to jewelry-making, where he found a way to combine design, craftsmanship and his fascination with gemstones.
Gemstones and Symbolism
Jomar’s interest in gemstones began with a curiosity about the traditions and beliefs associated with them. Over the years, he explored subjects ranging from birthstones and historical gem lore to the cultural symbolism attached to precious stones across different societies.

What began as a personal interest gradually developed into a broader study of gemstones and their place in history, fashion and human culture. This research would later inspire both his writing and his jewelry designs.
Jewelry and the Shop
Jomar began building an online presence for his jewelry on June 25, 2013, under the name Kamayo Jewelry. The brand focused on gemstone jewelry, particularly beaded necklaces, bracelets and zodiac charms.

Inspired by the rich artistic traditions of the Philippines, he later also sold tribal jewelry. As the scope of the business expanded, Kamayo Jewelry and other creative projects were brought together under the name Deomar Pandan Collections on January 19, 2018.

Over the years, the shop faced the challenges of operating from a remote part of the world. Shipping jewelry internationally from the Philippines often required patience from customers, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, when global logistics were severely disrupted. Despite these obstacles, the business continued to fulfil orders and serve customers around the world.

On April 9, 2018, the shop expanded beyond jewelry into apparel and accessories, allowing some products to be produced and shipped closer to customers in overseas markets.

As the business evolved, its branding evolved as well. The lengthy name Deomar Pandan Collections was eventually shortened to Deomar Pandan. Then, on June 30, 2024, the shop was renamed Yaspir, a name inspired by a fictional concept created by its owner and associated with aspiration and creativity.
However, over time, Jomar found that customers often place greater trust in real names than in abstract brand names. As his writing career increasingly centred on the name Jomar Pandan, and as he sought a stronger connection between his books, articles and products, he decided to return to using his real name for the business. Since June 3, 2026, the shop has operated under the name Jomar Pandan.
Writing
Alongside jewelry, writing remains one of Jomar’s greatest passions. He is the author of nonfiction works on gemstones and diamond cutting, including 80 Diamond Cuts, which explores the history, science and artistry behind the transformation of rough diamonds into brilliant gems.

Through his articles and books, he seeks to make the worlds of gemstones, jewelry and design more accessible to readers.
The Future
Jomar continues to pursue his interests in writing and jewelry. He also hopes to publish fiction in the future, bringing to life some of the imagined worlds and stories that have occupied his thoughts for years.

Whether through books, articles or jewelry, his goal is to create work that informs, inspires and sparks curiosity. If you enjoy his work, your support through sharing, reading or exploring his creations is greatly appreciated.
